Known colloquially as Comus, the actual full title is A Mask presented at Ludlow Castle 1634 on Michelmas night, before the right honorable John, Earl of Bridgewater, Viscount Brackley, Lord President of Wales, and one of His Majesty's most honorable privy council. Comus was printed in 1637. Milton included the work in his Poems of 1645 and 1673. Milton's text was later used for a highly successful masque by Thomas Arne in 1738, which then ran for more than seventy years in London.

Shorter than expected, rich in imagery and the senses, upright, true, instructive, and fun. There are copious notes which are helpful, but I skipped most of the ones in the beginning as I just wanted to dive in. The definitions at the back are nice too because I didn't know what a few of the creatures were. It also explains terms and phrases which an inexperienced reader of older English may not know yet.
William Bell's introduction isn't attributed to him. Whoever laid out the text completely ignored the separation of each line of poetry, so that the book is in prose. Spaces between words are often omitted. The font is a more loopy version of comic sans, which is difficult to read. This is the most horrible paper back I have ever seen, and I've read self-published books by college students.
